Honey BBQ Chicken Rice Bowl
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
½ cup honey
½ cup BBQ sauce
2 cups cooked white or brown rice
Chopped green onions (optional)
Sesame seeds (optional for topping)
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5–7 minutes, or until the chicken is golden and cooked through.
In a small bowl, mix together the honey and BBQ sauce.
Pour the honey BBQ mixture over the cooked chicken. Stir to coat and simmer for 2–3 more minutes until the sauce is sticky and thickened.
Spoon the honey BBQ chicken over warm cooked rice.
Top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if you’re feeling fancy.
Serve hot and enjoy that sweet-savory goodness.
